The Company

Premier Periclase Ltd has been in operation since 1979 and is strategically positioned on the Irish East coast in Drogheda, County Louth approximately 50km north of Dublin. The company has direct access to its raw materials, Seawater and Limestone.  It also operates its own wharf facility within the port of Drogheda.

The Company Profile

PPL employs in the region of 98 staff in its production plant and enjoys a low turnover of employees. The Company production line consists of an advanced precipitation facility along with multiple Kilns and Furnaces using natural gas and other fuels to reach temperatures up to 2300C. To enable a continuous production flow the Plant operates on a 24/7, 365-day basis.

Operating in a global commodities business sector, the Company is predominately an export business with customers located throughout Europe, Africa, USA and Asia including India.

The company is committed to complying with all applicable EU and national environmental legal requirements, including regulatory authority guidance and international best practice.

 

The company is committed to complying with the provisions of our Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Licence (IPPC license) issued by the Irish Environmental Protection Agency, see attached.

The company’s greenhouse gas emissions are regulated by the EPA through participation in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.
